Key points 重点提醒 · 教学提示
- 「请给我看一下……」是很客气的说法；「一下」在后面的语法页会讲。
- 对方要东西时，先说「好的」，再说「这是我的……」；中文里不说「给你」。
- 「公斤」是公制重量单位，机场几乎都用公斤；「超了三公斤」是「超过三公斤」的口语说法。
- 服务人员常用「您」，学生听得懂就好，自己说「你」也可以。「还是」是第 1-3 课学过的「A 还是 B」。
- 下一句开始是下飞机以后，在海关排队的场景。
- 海关人员问的就是这两个问题：「来做什么」和「住多久」，答案越短越好。

Before a 4th-tone syllable, 一 (yī) is pronounced yí. 后面是第四声时，「一」读 yí。
3rd + 3rd → 2nd + 3rd 两个第三声连读
When two 3rd tones meet, the first one sounds like a 2nd tone (the pinyin keeps the original tone mark). 两个第三声连在一起，前一个读第二声（拼音仍标原调）。

Story

It is Tom's first time traveling alone, and he arrives at the airport very early in the morning.
He goes to the counter first to check in his luggage, but the staff says his luggage is overweight.
Tom gets a little anxious so he has no choice but to take some things out and put them in his bag.
The staff looks at his passport and then asks whether he wants a window seat or an aisle seat.
Tom likes looking at the scenery, so he chooses the window seat.
After he gets his boarding pass, he finally feels relieved.
A few hours later the plane lands, and he first goes to join the line, getting ready to go through customs.
The customs officer asks: What are you here for? Tom says: I'm here to travel.
The officer asks again: How long do you plan to stay? Tom answers: I plan to stay ten days.
The officer smiles and says: Welcome, and enjoy your trip.
Tom walks out of the airport, thinking: A happy trip is about to begin!
